AIL Division 2B — Skerries RFC 24–22 Rainey Old Boys

Skerries' first XV secured victory in their AIL 2B campaign with a narrow 24-22 win over Rainey, clinched by a final-minute penalty from Ronan Mulcahy. After the previous week's home loss to Malone, several fresh faces featured in Skerries' lineup. The team began strongly, with Peter O'Neill scoring within five minutes following a quick-tap penalty setup. Rainey responded with tries from Killene Thornton and Ryan Davis, keeping the contest competitive.

Skerries extended their lead through Mulcahy's penalties and Taidgh Keane Boylan's try, establishing an 18-12 halftime advantage. The second half proved challenging, as reduced numbers from sin-bins affected Skerries' dominance. Rainey's Darren O'Neill and Andrew Donaghy crossed for tries, with Donaghy's effort putting Rainey ahead 22-21 with six minutes remaining.

A decisive moment arrived when Ben McKiernan's powerful run created a ruck infringement, allowing Mulcahy to strike the winning kick to the delight of the home bench and supporters.
