AIL Division 2B — Skerries RFC 15–40 Clogher Valley
Skerries suffered a chastening 15-40 defeat at home to an impressive Clogher Valley outfit. The visitors dominated proceedings from start to finish. Clogher Valley struck immediately, with prop Neil Henderson scoring within two minutes following an early penalty. David Maxwell converted successfully.
Ronan Mulcahy briefly responded with a penalty for Skerries, but Clogher Valley extended their advantage through number eight Callum Smyton's try, followed by Joel Busby's close-range effort. Luke Russell added the bonus-point try before halftime, leaving the score 3-28 at the break.
The second half proved equally difficult. Paul O'Loghlen received a sin-bin in the 45th minute, and Kyle Cobain capitalised from the resulting lineout opportunity. Despite extended attacking pressure, Skerries didn't score their first try until the 65th minute through Kevin McGrath. Tim Deering added a second-half try, with Mulcahy's conversion making the final tally 15-40. The defeat dropped Skerries to seventh place in AIL Division 2B.
