AIL Division 2B, Round 3 — Dungannon 21–22 Skerries RFC
Skerries secured a thrilling away victory at Stevenson Park, with Mikey Sherlock scoring the decisive try in the corner to seal a narrow 21-22 win. This marked the second consecutive round where the visiting team demonstrated resilience by striking late in the contest.
Early momentum belonged to Dungannon, with hooker Ryan Abernethy touching down within 90 seconds. Luke Mitchell's pass then created space for Taidgh Keane-Boylan to equalise shortly after, with the first half ending 7-10 to the visitors. Dungannon regrouped in the second half, with prop James Gamble and wing Peter Cashel scoring tries to establish a commanding 21-10 lead.
However, Skerries mounted an impressive comeback, with Davey Goodman evading defenders before Sherlock's corner finish proved decisive in the final moments. The result leaves Skerries as one of only two unbeaten teams in the division alongside table-toppers Wanderers. Next fixture: local rivals Malahide visiting Holmpatrick on October 19th.
