AIL Division 2B, Round 8 — Clogher Valley 39–24 Skerries RFC
The travelling Skerries team visited Clogher Valley in challenging weather conditions, with remnants of Storm Darragh still making their presence felt. Despite initial territorial advantage with the wind at their backs, Skerries couldn't convert opportunities early on. Clogher Valley opened scoring through captain Paul Armstrong's 15th-minute try, with David Maxwell converting (7-0).
After a scrummaging penalty advantage, David Stinson scored a second try, but Skerries responded impressively with Sam Deering's try and Ronan Mulcahy's conversion, then Paddy O'Loghlen's chip-and-chase effort put them ahead 17-12 at halftime.
The second half saw Skerries score first through Paddy Finn sweeping up loose ball for a try, extending their lead to 17-24. However, Clogher Valley's dominant scrum proved decisive, with Michael Treanor scoring twice, James Morrison adding a converted try, and Aaron Dunwoody completing the scoring late. Skerries dropped out of playoff positions with this loss, facing league leaders Wanderers next.
