AIL Division 2B — Sligo 23–17 Skerries RFC

Skerries' unbeaten start to the AIL 2B season ended with a loss at Hamilton Park in Strandhill. Despite challenging weather conditions featuring persistent rain, the Skerries team secured a bonus point through a late try by Peter O'Neill. The contest unfolded in difficult Atlantic coastal conditions, with Sligo dominating the scrum battle — former Connacht prop Conan O'Donnell proving influential throughout.

Sligo number eight Fintan Crawley scored the opening try from a dominant scrum platform, converted by Euan Brown for a 7-0 lead. Ronan Mulcahy's penalties for Skerries and Brown's conversions shaped the first half, which concluded with Sligo leading 13-3. Shortly after the resumption, Mulcahy added another penalty, but O'Donnell's converted try extended Sligo's advantage significantly.

Skerries continued to press but couldn't find a way through the resolute home defence. Mulcahy added two further penalties, but Brown's third successful penalty made it 23-12 with three minutes remaining. O'Neill's late breakthrough try, set up by Kevin McGrath and Darragh McEneaney, secured the valuable bonus point. This result saw Wanderers maintain top position, with Dungannon leapfrogging Skerries into second place.
